Why have two of the three baby parakeets that were hatched out about three weeks ago been pecked to death by one of the parents in the cage?
Its actually quite commen for animals to k!ll their young if they are sick or something is wrong with them, if they cant feed them, or some even k!ll to eat them for nutrition.
This is just a guess, but some animals kill their young if there the have an illness, or birth defect, they do this so that the defective bird can’t reproduce, for the good of the species perhaps thats why the parent killed the chicks, PERHAPS. Hope this helps

with our lab mice, we have to be careful with them in the later stages of their pregnancy because of they get disturbed they may eat their pups. Not sure why, but high stress seems to do it
Parents in the cage is your answer. Once they get feathers.. they need to be separated from the parents
