Why aren't my CDs letting me burn files onto them any more?

they have never been used but are several years old

Make sure your computer can read the CD clearly. Some Optical Drives can read + or - some can read both. Make sure the CD is compatible with your computer. If you are burning the CD’s, then see if you have to use a “re-write CD”. Also, make sure that you are burning the files legally (understand copyright laws). When I burn files into a CD I never use a DVD CD, only a CD-ROM.

well the files were a story i wrote so they were mine and the cd was an unused rw cd. i had others that worked but they had no extra room
