are Westies...

are westies ok to go joggin with? mine is a 2 year ols and seem to run behind me and I feel sorry for him.

For a jog around 2 or 3 blocks, sure…I wouldn’t take one on a 2 mile run, that’s for sure…My Westie kept up with a German Shepherd and a Rottie during play with no problem…but there was a lot of rolling, barking, and sniffing breaking up the running…

A dog has to build up muscle and endurance, just like humans…

I have a cairn terrier and I would not jog with him. His legs are too short and he tires too easily. He does like brisk walks. I would not jog with a westie for the same reasons.
