Are religion and politics similar?

I was just thinking about the similarities between politics and religion. It seems that more people fight about being to the left or to the right (in politics) and people often argue about which religion is the “true” religion, so is it possible to determine that religion and politics are similar because there’s no true way to establish peace until we all compromise on a middle ground? Just curious what your thoughts are on this.

It depends on who you ask. A conservative would typically believe that life is G-d given so pro life would be a matter of religion. Democrats believe that life should be regulated and controlled by the government so they think that life is political.

There are three categories of human life that involve deep passions with only rare critical thought:

  1. Religion
  2. Politics
  3. Sports

They are no more similar than any controversial subject? Theoretically that is like saying any issue on which large groups of people disagree with are similar… well yes, they’re controversial, but similarities tend to end there… As for the compromising part, wont happen… someone somewhere always wants more…

I think they are very similar you can never have one without the other and no one it ever right so I feel they are at least connected if not similar
