I have a cocker Spaniel a little over a year old. His name is Soldier! He is beautiful hes full blooded and blonde all over. I love him and wouldnt trade him for anything in this world. Have a cocker spaniel does require a lot of work. 1st of all they are very hyper dogs and hard to potty train. and because of their long fur they do shed quit a bit. they are very good friends to have though. will stick by your side and be your companion. Its like having a child. I recommend getting one.

I had a cocker spaniel for 13 years. She sadly passed away a year ago after SEVERAL health problems. I decided that someday I wanted to have a cocker spaniel again but after doing research I discovered that cocker spaniels are notorious for having health problems. You could probably google “cocker spaniel health problems” and find numerous websites to asist you. If this doesn’t bother you then I will tell you that my cocker was the sweetest little girl in the whole world! They behave very well and she never barked. If anything I would select a mix breed because it usually can help cancel out some of the problems with either dog like a Cockapoo (cocker poodle). oh and her name was shelby! Hope this helps

I had a cocker spaniel about 20 years ago. I loved her dearly. She was a good companion but she had her problems. She was a loyal dog but very hyper and she had a problem with excitement when people came to visit…she would get excited and tinkle. She never outgrew this! Also, she shed quite a bit.

When she died I adopted a cockapoo (cross between a cocker spaniel and a poodle). This breed was very easy to train, a nice medium size dog, did not shed but needed grooming about 3-4 times a year (I learned to groom her myself after purchasing the tool). Hope this helps.

I am a breeder of American Cocker Spaniels and sadly this sweet and wonderful breed has been brought to an awful place by careless breeding practices. There are many of us out here that love this breed and stand firm in our efforts to try and breed out some of the health issues. That has been my goal in my own lines and breeding regimen

Some of the worst issues these dogs can have is blindness, hip and knee issues, deafness and that is just the start.

If you want a Cocker, the breed is also famous for its happy and merry disposition. Mine are happy loving dogs that want to please me more than anything else. They are notorious toy lovers and genuine clowns.

FIND A REPUTABLE BREEDER. NEVER buy aCocker from a pet store no matter how cute it may be. You are asking for trouble. Get references from the breeder for those who have pups from past litter and do your homework. You may fun mail me any time and I ill be happy to answer any specific questions you may have!!
