It does seem really pointless. You’re learning it to get through high school and because you’ll definitely need to know it for all your math classes when you’re in college. Beyond that, I’m sure there are some professions where that kind of advanced math will be used but not in most.

It is pointless. Supposedly, it exercises your brain, but wouldn’t it be better exercised with something that you’ll need? By the end of high school, you won’t remember most of what you learned in pre-Algebra or Algebra 1.
