Sauternes (pronounced Sauturn) is the best sweet wine that I know of but it can be kinda tough to find. Riesling (white) and Sangria (red) are my next favorite sweet wines after that one.

Answer #8

When I was young there were several “bum wines” that were high in alcohol, sweet, and tasted more like pop than wine. Ripple, MD 20/20, Boone’s Farm, Thunderbird and Annie Greensprings are some I can remember. There were a few that were a little more pretentious but in the end were little better like Tyrolia, Cold Duck and Matus. These were popular liquids to get drunk on for people with limited means like bums and students. I don’t think any of these are made any more. I will admit that I had far too many buzzes and hangovers from these cheap libations during my misspent youth. These wines have largely been replaced by alcohol “coolers” like Zima, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Smirnof Ice, Bacardi Breezer, Skyy Blue, etc. These are basically alcohol beverages for people who don’t like alcohol.
