  6 cats can eat 3 rats in 1 minute 1 cat can eat 1/2 rat in 1 minute 18 cats can each eat 1/2 rat in 1 minute = 9 rats 18 cats can eat 9 rats in 1 minute 18 cats can eat 24 rats in 2 mins and 40 secs.
