Is it true that you don't have to wear a uniform to school in America?

at certain schools (usually private) you do but where I went for elementary, middle, and high schools I never had to wear a uniform but my schools were public.

Some schools do and some don’t. When I was in school I never had to wear a uniform but all the schools aroung here now - require them.

it all depends of the schools. I go to public schools and we dont haave uniforms but a friend of mine goes to this catholic school and he has to wear a uniform

here in australia most of us wear uniforms too in fact most schools do require them mainly because some of the things that children kids and teens wear can be a health hazzard and /or are just plain rediculouse or promiscuous low cut tops, mini skirts, flowy things, anything with bits and peices comming of it, long necklaces that you could easily strangle someone with, flip flops/sandles/open toed shoes and high heels, ect and secondly because its easier not having to stress over what your going to wear all year round

all schools in HK no matter its public or pivate have to wear uniforms, really suck!!

In elementry I wore uniform Once you get into High School you can stop wearing it.

Over here in SA all schools (public or private) have to wear uniforms…sucks.
