You will need a passport. You need to throughly research the program, the area you will be going, and the people you will be staying with. There have been a lot of scams lately involving people to people sending teens to stay in homes where they’ve been abused, mistreated, under-fed, denied access to the family’s food and restroom facilities, and other awful things. You need to make sure your family is allowed to come see where you will be staying, and that they’ll be allowed to talk to you and the people you’re staying with. There is nothing worse than being abroad and not having anyone looking out for you. London is fairly expensive; I don’t know about Paris. For example, when we were there a year and a half ago, gas was about $9 a gallon and milk worked out to be about $5 a gallon. Those are basic necessities. Clothing over there is pricey as well. BUT if you do get accepted, the opportunities for a quality education and life experience are GREAT. Good luck; hope it works out for you.

The cost will vary. I went about 8 years ago and it was between $1 and $2,000.

You will need a passport. They are international trips and you need a passport to leave and re-enter the US.
