Am I out of my mind?

My boyfriend is seventeen, he’ll be eighteen in January. I’m only fourteen and won’t be fifteen for another seven months. I know I’m young, and he’s practically an adult compared to me. But I’m very mature for my age, and I love him. The only issue is he’s very big on talking about having sex with me. I’m not ready to have sex and I always tell him that, but he still talks about it and asks if I want too. but he never has really pressured me or forced me to have sex with him which is the better part. The thing is, I’m a virgin, and I plan on staying that way unless I fall madly in love with my boyfriend and decide to give my virginity to him. Which isn’t likely to happen any time soon. Sometimes I don’t know what to do, I always feel like I’m doing the wrong thing by being with him because he’s so much older than I am. I don’t like feeling like I’m crazy or stupid for dating a seventeen, almost eighteen year old. I don’t know what to do, am I really out of my mind for being with him?

Okay, first off I applaud you for not just handing out your virginity at random. Congrats. Hard to find girls your age that still ARE virgins. A virgin is like Furbys. A rare sight anymore.

Anyway, I digress. Okay, first off (or second if you’re counting), the fact that he’s 17 almost 18 isn’t bad. As long as he’s not 28 or something it’s not that bad. You’re not out of your mind.

Thing about it is he’ll keep asking. And asking.. And asking… He’s hoping eventually you’ll cave. Well, just keep your stance on that and you should be fine. Unfortunately most guy in high school nowadays think that sex is what keeps a relationship together. Well, here’s a news flash: WRONG!!! Never has. Just keeps romance in the life. It’s not what makes the relationship.

Eventually, though, he may just give up and either 1) leave you, or 2) wait until you’re ready. Most go for the easy out and find another girl more willing to satisfy his hormonal urges. Don’t let him try and get you to do anything else, either. “Well, how about anal sex? You’re not having ‘real sex.’ Or how about a BJ or hand job?”

As a person who used to do this kind of thing I sympathize for you. I know what you’re going through. I quit because I realized, well, that ain’t what all girls want.

You do sound very mature for your age I give you a lot of respect for that. You know your not ready so don’t let some guy influence you. You can see if he really cares about by testing him there if he does really care he will wait.
