It would be much better of you went to the Police Station and owned up now. Whatever will happen will happen the same now, or in the future. You should report yourselves and apologize profusely. You will get in FAR less trouble than if you make the cops find out who it was, and they WILL find out it was you. Especially if someone saw you, as you suspect. If you can be mature and step up and say you were wrong and it was stupid you will get off way better than if you try to hide it like a child.
