Advice of Dying hair...really wild style

Alright first off im not doing this for attention, I wear Tripp pants and dress gothy though I don’t believe in lables so I get enough unwanted attention as is, but I want to dye my hair. Im a light haired brunette and my hairs probably pasts my breasts but still not the longest. Anyways I want to dye my hair half black, half white. Yes, oh so shocking eh. >.> Im not trying to be rude about it or anything but I’ve got some negative comments about it and I really don’t need someone telling me how stupid an idea that is or whatever. Give me some honest advice, not “DONT DO IT!” Tell me why, not only that it’ll kill my hair but honestly why.

Back to my problem/question…I want the right side of my hair black and the left side white, not light blonde but white. My friend dyes her hair all the time and offered to do it for me, it always turns out great but her hair is a bit brittle. My hair now is very very silky and soft. I know if I take care if it then it’ll be alright but please help me…tell me how should I go about it, how will having the obviously bleached side of my hair and the dark black side…well how would it work?! XD

Lastly say I want my old hair color back after the roots start to come on then what would I do? Would I be SOL or is there something I can do? I’ve heard of something called hair stripping but I don’t think I wanna do that. Please help me and tell me what I should do and what all this can do to my hair. Thanks!

Answer #1

go for whatever YOU want. if you wanna have fun with your hair then go for it. xoxoTina

Answer #2

if your only interested in how it will look and not the effect it will have on your hair go for it cause hair always grows back=] and if you change your mind you can always fix it. your outside should match your inside and if thats what you feel like doing, do it cause it sounds like a pretty cool idea to me=]

I actually think it’d look f*cking awesome if you did it top half white, then bottom half black, instead of cruella deville style. I have a friend who dyed her hair completely black then somehow (she won’t tell us) dyed that skull design from The Punisher in almost pure white. some days it looks a little gray. maybe the best way to go about it is to start bleaching your hair, but do it gradually, instead of all at once. each time you bleach it, bleach it a lighter shade, and then a lighter shade, until you have it as light as you want. my friend mikayla did that. it’s not quite white tho. sorry if I wasn’t much help. just talk to me if you want to ask questions or…I don’t know, something.

Buy Manic Panic bleach 30 volume. Follow the package directions & don’t leave it on any longer than it says. Cover the part you want black with foil & tie it up into a plastic grocery store bag. You are better off bleaching first, then doing the black on the virgin hair. MP makes a nice semi-perm black. Deep condition your hair for about a week beforehand. Use a couple of drops of olive oil as a leave in conditioner.

if you want something that will look sexy..I say to keep your natural hair color and highlighted bright red..red highlights look sexy on light brunette hair…or dye it black with red or purple highlights(semi permanent)because I think that white hair look old and not so sexy…but if you like white hair dye it white and if didn t look good you can change it whenever you want…wish you all the luck!!!

I don’t think the half would be a good choice, but maybe alternating stripes. Feel free to ignore me, but the stripe idea would also make it easier to go back to your natural color when the roots start showing, though it wont be perfect. Hair dye all contains a striping agent known as H2O2, or hydrogen peroxide, that naturally strips hair of its pigment so the dye can look brighter. White hair dye isn’t asctually dye, but is a bleach that does that much harshly then the peroxide in normal hair dye. when your roots start coming back just simpley redye your hair back natural, and this is where the stripes come in. If your hair is striped black and white, when your redye it brunette, it will look like a low-light job… sort of… but the peroxide does work to help get rid of other dyes, but not as dramatic as it does on virgin hair. As for combating the brittle, you can use a repairing conditioner from a salon. Suave doesnt really work, so make sure its from a salon. Heated olive oil will strip the black dye out if it’s not set properly(about a week of washing and conditioning), if it would even let the dye stay at all.

You should know it’s nearly impossible to have true white hair, and if you do it, it WILL destroy it.

You mention you don’t want to strip your hair…sorry, but then no white hair.

Answer #8

Do whatever you want with your hair. As a7x said, your style has nothing to do with your hair. Dress as you please and have your hair however you want.

Answer #9

Do your hair however you want to. Try different things out and see what you like best. Your style has nothing to do with your hairstyle. Wear whatever you want and have your hair however you want.

Answer #10

I actually think that is a great idea..! who cares what other people think they are probably just mad because they cant pull it off like you and as long as you take care of your hair after it wont be that bad it might be a little damaged but hey pain is beauty so if you can go threw the pain of having slightly damaged hair then you can have your half and half hair but anyways I think its great 2 be differnet and its coming 4rm a girl who used to have bright pink highlights :]

Answer #11

well… I say go for it.. first bleach it[a couple times]..then look for manic panic virgin snow white toner mixer…its alright if your hair becomes rough, just buy a treatment. experiment this first some part of your hair.
