What is some good dye advice for dying part of my hair blue?

My hair is brown and sholder length…and I want to dye part of it blue but I dont want to cut my hair…I was thinking about dying the underneath…but I cant decide what to do…I want it to be noticeable but not really bright…I thought about putting blue and black streaks in it but I thought that might make me look like a clown or sumthing..what should I do???

I like the blue and black streaks idea, don’t think it would look clown at all. however, if you do that, get it done profeesionally because I tried to do my own streaks once and it turned out TERRIBLE.
