What activities can I get involved in for the rest of this year since I'm home-schooled?

Drama? Dance? Choir? Art classes? Charity events? Gym?

Look up a local amateur theatre group on the internet or in local papers. It is a great way to meet a variety of people and will also help you build lots of confidence, which you may not have if you don’t mix with a great deal of people in a social setting like school.

Otherwise you could do an exercise class at your local gym/ health centre or look in your local library to see if they do bookgroups. Volunteering in a local charity shop is a beneficial activity and will look great on your CV as well as helping you meet people, who you could then start doing other activities with.

There are lots of options out there for you- maybe look up what activities your local high schools offer (get a prospectus or ask someone who goes to one) and see where else in your area offers similar things.

Bowling league is a good idea. Dance. See what’s offered at your local community center!

One of the purposes of home-schooling is to teach you to be independent and self-directing. That means the right question to ask is: What kinds of activities do you feel drawn to participate in because you enjoy them, or want to learn more about them, or find meaning and fulfillment in them?
