What can a 16 year old do if she doesn't want to attend college, but wants to still study child care?

Answer #1

you can take online classes. This way you will not have to attend an actual campus, but still get the credentials you need to get into the field of childcare.

Answer #2

do u know what website i can find this information on ?

Answer #3

It depends on the carreer you are looking into. If you want to eventually run a daycare, find a job with one or volunteer at a church or community center to make sure that’s really what you want to do. There are many courses you can take to help you train and get specific certificates that are needed. If you want to get into something more involved, like Child Psychology, you will have to go to college, of course.

I see you are in the UK, one thing I can advise you to do is contact Connexions, they specialise in giving a range of advice to young people. Here’s the link to their site, you can email or phone them. Of course doing an online course is going to cost money, there are several sites which offer online courses, I found this one from the open study college who offer ncfe approved approved national qualifcations. http://funadvice.com/r/14rrso9enss but I would advise getting career advise first and contacting Connexions could be a good start.
