If you have ability to make cookies, then you can start selling them to your neighbors, friends or relatives. If you have ability to teach or have ability in playing music: then you can offer yourself to have private lessons for your neighbor kids. If you have the patience and knowledge on baby sitting then you can start proposing parents who need helps. Or maybe garage sale.

If the weather is favorable where you live, you can assemble items you no longer want or check with family members what they can part with and have a garage or yard sale. If you bake you can also sell those there as well. Advertise it in your local paper. Your parents if agreeable, could set up an ebay account for you and you could also sell items there. Many people start out using their initial profits by going to thrift stores and other garage sales to resell at a higher price. If you have a metal or can recycling place in your area, you can also do some dumpster diving or ask neighbors/friends to reserve them for your pick up. If you live near a senior center or living complexs, you can check there or post a sign (with approval to do that) if anyone is looking for help in dog walking, or little household errands or chores you can do.
