Can I get anything for my laptop problems leading me to losing all my files?

Okay yesterday my new laptop i had for about a month just truned off, it wont turn on. This laptop had all of my files on, everything, converstions and all. I lost it all and we went today to teh place we bought it and they said if we bring the reciept they will change it and give us a new one, problem is tht i had so many things on there that i cannot get back now, photos of my late dad, conversations with the boy i love who dumped me, holiday pictures, everything. Can i get nything from this, like can i get them to give me a laptop ugrade or something#?

wellll as far as i know u cant get an upgrade,u can get an exchange for it but nothing like an upgrade,and u should have your laptop checked out by a tech person,that happend to me a few months ago except i had a tunn of school data and projects in mine and it did the same wouldnt turn on at all,so he checked it out and fixed it,turns out it was some virus,then that way you wont lose all your files,hope it works for you:D

It was a new laptop, i deffo didnt have a virus on it either. Thanks for the advice though.

I would go to a Best Buy (if they have them in England) and I think they can get everything off of your hard drive and put it on your new computer. Then I would get Carbonite for you laptop, it’s a file back-up system. It costs money, but it works and has worked for my family computer which has crashed 2 times before :)

Most likely the Hard drive is till in decent condition (which is where all your data is stored) You can buy something like this: http://funadvice.com/r/15l7itlsfmj, pull the hard drive outa the busted laptop and connect it to another computer with that cable and copy all the data off it.

If thats a bit too much for you, you can take it into a computer repair shop and get them to do it.

Only issue is opening the bottom of the laptop and removing the hdd might void your warranty.
