How can I get Yahoo messenger not to pop up on my main screen when I turn on my computer?

There’s a setting to shut that off in the options or something, I had to change that when I stopped using it so much, also, this does violate the ToU =P

Alright

1. Press the Windows Start Button and type “run” then press enter.
2. Type in “msconfig” and press enter.
3. Go under the “Startup” tab and uncheck “Yahoo! Messenger”.
4. Click “Apply” and it’ll restart your computer, and it won’t pop-up on startup anymore.

Janicee is correct this will work on any windows OS

everyone is telling you how to stop it starting up with windows and not how to actually stop the pop up.. you see, you can have it start up with windows and not pop up on the desktop.. what exactly is it you want? :)

You press “Run”, and then type in “msconfig”…then click the little file top for Start up.

There are options in the messenger thing, tho..you need to unclick “Start with Windows”..
