How to use XBOX Live?

hey I just got a 360 (Friggin SWEET) and now my friends all telling me about Xbox Live. I have a modem and I got the Ethernet cable with the 360. now my problem is that my modem is quite far away from my 360. and I don’t know how… But my friend told me that there is a 50 or 100ft Ethernet cable and I think that it is too expensive. soo can you help me please?

also a quick question: is every Ethernet cable Compatible for the xbox-360?

ok what I did was.,(I had the same problem you did) was I bought an xbox adaptor and an router which hooks up to your computer. The only problem with that is it cost like $150 dollers, so your best bet would be to hook up your ethernet cable from your 360 to your modem which will cost way less and wayyy less trouble than the other way which is all wireless. You might have a lot of lagg with your ethernet cabling being so long.
