Is the topic the song? What were you writing about the song. I think you chose a difficult topic especially if you want to write from a subjective viewpoint.

Also how did you structure your essay, was your introduction done properly and attracted attention, did you have a conclusion, what were you debating/discussing in the middle of the essay. Often people have cool ideas with essays, but aren’t that good at structuring it.

Well, if it’s for your favorite song, I would probably put what the song is about, how you relate to it (while quoting parts of it), and how it makes you feel.
