Why wont anyone hire me?

i’ve been applying at so many places. i apply at about 5 to 10 places a day since last year may after i graduated and every single place has turned me down, even places with “Help Wanted” signs. i’ve never had prior job experience becausse i couldnt have a job during highschool (i’m 19-1/2 now). is that the reason no one will hire me? and i answer the assesment questions to the best of my ability too. it deperesses me alot. and me and by best friend both aapplied at the local shopko the same time and she got hired (though most likely because her older sister worked there before). am i doing something wrong that i am not getting hired??

You could be your attire, or bad timing. The economy is still recovering. It could be your attitude. Keep trying!

Answer #2

lmaoo i have the same problem.. if u volunteer and then apply with that on ur resume that should be a shoe in :)

Answer #3

dress professional, black slacks, white blouse, dress up shoes and i don’t mean heels. bring a resume with atleast 3 references, have it printed neatly and updated. have a great attitude, smile and match your voice with enthusiasm. sell yourself and seem extremely interested in the company.

Answer #4

i did. i did volunteer in 2008 for the obama campaign.

Answer #5

Must be hard time. maybe we shall start it all over from the beginning. Try to recompose your application letter. See if it is clearly enough explaining your ability and educational back ground. If everything is alright, then try to see your CV. Any misspelling, is eveything in a good order. If done with that, then we shall try to see any extra ability, maybe courses like computer or any other ability that can add your points. Second of all, maybe it is your personal appearance. try to be as neutral though less formal in the first day of interview. Interviewers usually give first judgment to us by the way we look. Speak brief and clear. One thing, try not to get stressed during the interview. Next try to see this: http://www.funadvice.com/howto/find_school_job_suits_life

Answer #11

its also extremly annoying when my mother is depserately trying to get me to move to her town and live in a “motel kitchenette” and get a job there, but she lives in a Summer Town so nothing is open execpt during well, summer. only thing that is open are gas stations year round, but they dont hire anyone unless they’re family and also usually during summer.

Answer #12

i am lol. gas stations, dollar trees, shopkos. pizza places. lol. sigh. its like no one wants me. lol

Answer #13

I would say because you dont have experience and since the economy is bad thats who they need is people that have had a job. Theres job corps if you have low income , thats what im trying to get into at the moment . You go off and train for a certain job that you want for up to two years and when your done they find you a job and if you want they may help you go to college as well..
