How to make sure Wine is in function on Ubuntu?

It seems like I have Wine installed on Ubuntu Mint, though for some reason it doesn’t seem to be functioning properly. Since I try to download games, some sites need windows or Mac provided. and Wine cooperates with Windows XP. So How should I find out how to activate it? Thanks^-^

Wine isn’t going to make all your Windows programs magically run on Ubuntu. It takes some tweaking some times and other run like crap or crash often or have graphic or audio bugs. Others install perfectly and run w/o an hitch. First you can check Wine’s website to see if anyone has tested that program and how well it runs on Wine, and also some tips to make it run better. Here is the link to their app database: http://funadvice.com/r/15uv97d3qv9 Search for the program you are trying to run and see what it says.

I have found it usually best to find Linux native programs to use if possible.

If you trying to run d/l flash games full of crapware…well they aren’t a good idea to start with regardless of OS you are one.
