Will parents mind if your lover was 10-20yrs older than you?

If you have dated or are dating someone who is 10yrs or more older than you, did his/her or your parents have a problem with the age difference?

Answer #1

Right is not good to be in love with a person who is old than by 10years,I will advise you that if you are in love with now,get out of it before is too late,if you wanted to start, don’t ever do that even asingle day.

I’m 23 and I’ve been dating and man who is 11 years older than me. and we have a 16 month old child together. we’ve been together for 2 years now. even though he lied about his age to me at first… being with an older guy was not my plan, it’s ok…it all depends on how he treats you. my mother and my grandmother was ok with it, they say that the man is suppose to be older, because they mature later. my brothers was no happy with it, because he’s around their ages. it is weird at first, but I don’t even think about his age now at all. he is my first really boyfriend..but what I liked about him is that he was so out going, the type who was williing to get up and drive anywhere, I loved that.. and there isn’t many people who is willing to do those things at a drop of a hat… I hope that I help some, take care

Answer #3

Right so you are what 23/24? And are thinking of dating someone who is 33/43? I am going out with someone older and it has caused problems in the past but I was a lot younger than you are now.

I think it should be fine, you are within age of consent and are a and adult who is more than capable of making life’s decisions. Your parents should be fine with it. They may reject the idea at first or they may be totally fine. It depends on how close you are, is there a strong family unit, do you speak about things. Look back at pat experiences and it should give an indication of how well they will take it.
