Will my dog die?

I don’t want the same spay/neuter crap answers I just want to know what to expect. We already had a black male lab and decided to get our son a dog and let him pick it out. He picked a female, but before we knew it she had gone into heat and now I think she’s pregnant. The only thing is she is half weinie dog half something else so she is a lot smaller. Will the puppies kill her?

Answer #1

I dont think so. and you’re right it’s your business to breed your animals, and no one elses. I would go to your vet and see what he/she thniks. good luck!

Answer #2

DId you see them tie, I mean is she for sure pregnant? How much bigger is he than she? I am not saying it can’t be done but I am not sure the Lab did? How old your male?

Answer #3

There may be complications.

Answer #4

NO.

Answer #5

I would talk to your Vet but no. The size should adjust. If they can breed they can normally have the pups. Remember the pups are half their Mom’s genes too.

But I do have a question? How big is the female if the black lab could get to her?

Answer #6

she’s short like a weinie dog and approx 25lbs. Oh I will definely take her to the vet I was just getting some opinions and like I said I don’t want to hear the “you should spay/.nueter your pets speech” it’s quite annoying! Our female dog’s father was weinie dog and her mom was bigger like the size of a lab…strange huh? We love our dogs very much and just because they aren’t fixed doesn’t mean we love them any less.

“I don’t want the same spay/neuter crap answers”

Wow maybe you should spay and neuter your animals. Then this wouldn’t happen. Breeding mutts into a world where they don’t already have waiting and loving homes is really, really brilliant. I worked in a shelter where thousands of dogs have been euthanized just because they don’t have homes. A little education might save some of those lives.

And to answer your question? It’s possible that the pups could kill her, if their heads are too large to pass. You need to get her to a vet ASAP for x-rays to see how many puppies are in there, and then schedule a c-section to avoid potential complications.

Answer #8

Talk to your vet and he/she should be able to tell you.

Answer #9

I had my dog spayed when she was pregnant…we got her at the dog pound, and two weeks later I could tell she was PG…saved her the wear and tear of pups, and myself the guilt of knowing that the chances of finding loving life-long homes wasn’t all that good…

If you opt to have them, then getting in contact with a Vet, so he’ll know that there might be complications is a must. Having a healthy mother and healthy pups isn’t a cheap proposition…Spaying is FAR cheaper.

Answer #10

to answer your question, yes she can have them, you may need a x-ray at 59-62 days in to the gestation period to see how big the pups are comparied to her pelvic bone

choice number two, take her to get spayed NOW. I know this sounds cruel and I am still on the fence about it, but I work at a vet hospital and we just spayed a female lab this week who was pregnant. She got out and was gone about 2 weeks the owners got her back and a couple of weeks later they thougt she was pregnant. So they brought her in to be spayed and Yes she was she had 7 puppies in side of her and they were about 40-50- days into gestation. HOWEVER, yes it was sad to see them be Aborted, but when we called the lady and told her she said “well that was 7 less puppies the shelter would have ended up with. So either way she did not want them or the mom and the pup’s would have ended up on the streets, So don’t be affraid of talking to your vet now and getting her spayed NOW while it is early.
