Will he ever like me?

I’m in love with my bestfriend’s brother. I’ve liked him since our second grade year. He’s known I’ve liked him pretty much the whole time. We’re about to go into our junior year of high school. I asked him to Tolo (Sady Hawkins) dance earlier this year, he thought about, but after a few days decided to turn me down He said “We didn’t hang out with the same people, plus I don’t really like you I like another girl.” It might of also been due to his whole family knowing that I asked him, which is a little wierd since I’m at his house everyday. This was all back in January. I really don’t want to give up on him. Should I just wait it out? Or give up all together? I just really need someone’s advice about the whole situation.

Also his sister (my best friend) has always said he acts differently around me, more shy and laughs at my jokes and my clumsy ways (unlike he would do with her other friends) even their cousin has noticed his odd behaivor around me. Just thought I should add that.
