Why wont it work?

I have a burned disk of a game from 1999. I know its old but its the funnest game ever. I got a new computer a hp vs 17 and now my game wont work. is there any chance it might? it shows up but then goes away. thanks

If the game is from 1999 it is probably designed for Win98/ME. A new computer will likely be running WinXP/Vista. Lots of the old games that ran on 98 will not run on XP. Do some research on the web - there are probably fixes out there that will help you get your game running. Good luck!

Sometimes your computer is “too good” for the game. It’d odd, I had a really fun game and tried installing it and it failed (Dad said it was because the graphics card was too good) but then my friend installed it on his computer perfectly fine.

my original aliens vs predator wouldnt work on XP but worked perfect on win95 and win98 so I duel booted with XP and win95 and when I wanted to play id boot win95..

yes with technology evolving all teh time and with older games writen for old dos operating systems its hard for them to run but not impossible.. ;)

it will be something to do with your operating system at a guess and having none of your system spec makes it harder hint hint lol

if your new system is new youll have either vista or win7?

a search is only bringing up the hp vs 17 as a 17” monitor :S
