Why they had to kill the monkey.

Did you see the news about the monkey that became crazy and the police had to kill him,the monkey was shot but I wonder why the police didnt shoot him with a sleeping dart or something like that they didnt have to kill the monkey what do you think any answer is welcome thank you.,

Answer #1

The monkey was on a rampage…a very dangerous rampage…it takes time to get a Fish and Game person lined up with a dart …has to be the right dosage, and takes an experienced “shooter”…There was NO time for all that.

I didn’t look at answers above. The monkey would have had to been killed anyways because any animal that severely hurts a person has to be killed. Let’s say a dog bit a person really bad. If it is a stray or if the owner cannot prove it has had its shots, the dog has to be killed, not put to sleep, and I know a little more but I think that if I wrote it here this answer would get removed. Also, when the monkey would’ve woken up from sleeping, what would it have done next? I think the cops were very right in killing it.

Answer #3

I mean its just a animal and the monkey ripped a womans face off!!! I mean ya sleeping dart if it gets out of its cage but they had to put a new face on her from a lady that just died I mean that is insane!!! so yes I think the police did the right thing…

Answer #4

You can’t trust an animal that attacks a human, not even in a cage. Besides, the monkey would’ve hated being caged after being allowed to roam so free up until that point.

Answer #5

it tore the womans face apart, and almost killed her its very rare that a monkey like that will be able to be rehabilitate and put in a new home and its extreemly doubtfull that it could go back into the wild so they had to kill itm, because its likely it would have attacked other people a monkey isnt a pet in the first place anyway if you dont have a license to keep one, keeping one is illegal

Answer #6

There was definatly a reason to kill the monkey. Once an animal becomes so violent that it is attacking a person (did you not see how terrrible the monkey tore her up), there is usually is no calimg the animal down and keeping it as a normal animal again.

Answer #7

If the monkey became crazed, the chances were very slim he could be rehabilitated.

He was a threat and danger to humans, and everybody knows that humans come first ( I don’t honestly agree with that, but it’s the way the world seems to work)

Answer #8

Yeah I agree with you. There was no need to kill the monkey. It lives and breathes and it did NOT deserve that. Yeah they should of shot it with sleeping dart, and took it from there.

God people these days…

:)

Answer #9

that monkey tore the womans face up pretty bad, and I heard something about her hands would have to be reattached- so it was a very vicious attack.

as far as the tranquilizer goes- it would take time to take effect- in the crazed state the chimp was in, it may have taken awhile for the sedative to put him out- from the policemens standpoint the monkey was a serious danger to the community- and the lethal option was used to keep others from being attacked. public safety always comes first- a tranquilizer would not have stopped his rampage fast enough.
