Why they force us to get digital tv.

Why we are force to get digital tv, converter or cable why they dont leave tv just like this and let people to choose if they want to get a digital tv or they want the regulart I think this is only businees to sell digital tv and cable, because even to get converter and apllying for that is annoying already people dont have time for that. This should be a choice for the people not an obligation to buy these things.

Analog TV is an inefficient use of a shared resource - radio bandwidth. For the same bandwidth wasted on a single analog channel, we can get 10 digital channels.

…but the real motivation is revenue. Airwave bandwidth used to be free on a first come first serve basis. Now the government is charging for it.

Answer #2

For the same reason we stopped making wagon wheels. There were no more wagons.

Pretty soon there will no longer be TV’s that don’t receive a digital signal, so why should they bother sending an analog signal anymore? The number of TV’s that currently need an analog signal is tiny, and if you have one, the solution is simple, get a converter.

Answer #3

Hey, anything for the Government/Cable people to get money. :) That’s all that really matters in this world. Not to me anyway, but to most.

Well most people like to see clarity in their pictures. And rounded tv screens are sometimes a pain. And you don’t get large screen tv with old tvs. Some people want their own cinema-looking lounge room. Growing technology is bringing these to people and if they want better quality looking pictures (when I say pictures I mean your tv shows and movies), they have to upgrade their old obsolete system.

If you stay with the old system you probably wont get any more programs fed to your tv. Plus I believe the new system saves energy.
