Why Robert Pattinson is going to play Kurt Cobain in a film?

Fake Story!!! Made up by the tabloid The Sun from london. According to MTV news:

• The Sun is a British tabloid that seems to specialize in stories about how Megan Fox is going to play Catwoman. Their latest “scoop,” however, was a real doozy — Rob was in regular contact with Courtney Love and had landed the role of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain in a biopic. The rumor got a bit of traction, particularly because of RPattz’s well-documented love of music, but ultimately the Sun story was dismissed by Love’s reps, leaving the tabloid to offer all apologies.*

If your main criteria for whether or not an actor gives a good representation in a biopic is whether or not they look exactly the same as the person they portray, I think all Nirvana fans everywhere should be glad you are not in charge of casting.

Yes, it’s true, and no, I don’t. If Courtney Love has given her blessing on the casting, and she has, that’s good enough for me. I don’t presume to know who could characterize him better than she does.

Oh wow. I haven’t heard anything about this yet. I was and still am a HUGE Nirvana fan so I will be looking forward to seeing this movie…whoever plays Kurt Cobain. Robert Pattinson may not be the best choice for Kurt, but his fame level will attract many people to see the movie and therefore probably make it pretty popular and make lots of money, which I’m sure is the motive behind it. I will admit I’m a Twilight/RPats groupie and also had the biggest crush on Kurt when he was still alive and I will enjoy seeing the two hotties merge into the same guy on the big screen. Drool. lol :)

I wasn’t exactly happy when I heard this, a little disappointed, but it isn’t a huge deal. It was more like “Ooo, Courtney is yet again using Kurt to make some cash.” It’s probably going to bring back Nirvana again for a while with all the teenage girls who are in love with Robert Pattinson as well, so just another phase to go through more or less. I don’t think it’s an insult, I wouldn’t doubt that Kurt would have just laughed about it if he had some way of knowing, the only people who are going to think it’s an insult are the people who take things too seriously and are over passionate about Nirvana/Kurt.
