Why not use cameras to keep classroom discipline?

Why would it not be a good idea to put cameras in classrooms? – not for crimes, but for classroom discipline!

Answer #1

I dont think students would feel comfortable having a camera on them 24/7 when there at school, they would feel like they have no privacy, and it could disrupt there learning instead of help it I mean if you were at school, would you feel comfortable having a camera on you all the time? probably not

Answer #2

We do have cameras in our school. It was added because of a crime and they say that it would also help us to be more disciplined. But even though there are cameras, we still sleep (I do, lol), eat inside the classroom, talk, and whatsoever. It didn’t actually made a change on us. The only thing that changed, is that my classmates does not cheat anymore! yay lol. Although some teachers say that they watch the videos in grading us for our deportment o.O lol. But really, we didn’t really bother that there’s already a camera watching us. We still do out thing. x))

Answer #3

I think it’s a perfectly decent idea. We have cameras everywhere else to deter unwanted behavior, and I think bullies would get the idea pretty quickly that aggressive behavior will not be tolerated once a few of them get picked off for performing their deeds on camera.

Anyone living in any modern metropolitan area gets used to the idea very quickly of being on camera during a large portion of their day. I don’t think students would have any harder time adjusting.
