Why - My two cents on vampires and whatnot?

Alright, I’m new to the site and have been sifting through questions and offering what I can and I can see a mad Twilight obsession fad going through here, both the haters and the lovers. It’s also quite late, so I’m just going to throw some ideas out, likely aren’t going to make too much sense either. So myself, I am not a fan of the whole Twilight series, not my cup of tea. I have read all the books, some relative bought me it when it first came out like 4 years ago or something, I don’t know… And I didn’t think it was too bad, something new. Then just over a year ago this whole thing blew up and there are thousands of teenage girls oogling vampires, turned me right off. I was one of those ranting fools who goes on about it like it’s some kind of poison. I even gave the movie a shot to see what was so great about it. haven’t seen the second one and doubt I ever will… I’ve come to realize something though, a lot of people claim to hate it because it’s not an accurate portrayal of vampires. Okay, so since when are vampires real? Since when is there a specific model that vampires have to follow? Honestly, doing something different with the idea of vampires could be considered a good idea, I see no reason not to. In other words, shut your face and deal with it, because your whining isn’t going to do anything about it. I just kind of want to hear people’s opinions on it.
