Why isn't the Cheshire Cat pink?

I’ve watched a couple of Alice in Wonderland previews, and I noticed the Cheshire Cat is gray… Why isn’t he pink like the original?

Answer #1

I don’t know; But I think they should have kept the cat pink. its one of the Alice in Wonderland original thingys! Lol

Answer #2

because it’s not the original.

Answer #3

The original Cheshire cat (in Lewis Carroll’s book) is not pink and I don’t think he has a determined colour; though he seems to look brown on some of the illustrations. The pink and purple thing is only true for the 1950 Disney movie, which is not the “original” Alice. Tim Burton’s Alice is (said to be) based on the books, not on the Disney’s animated movie.
