Why isn't sound on my computer working?

Okay, so about four days ago, I went on the computer and it was acting strange. It took several restarts until I could get logged into an account and onto the internet. Well, the sound wasn’t working. and I thought, well it might just be that it’s muted, so I went to all programs, and accessories and then entertainment and then volume control, but when I double clicked it, a message popped up reading:

There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, go to control panel, click printers and other hardware, and then click add hardware.

before it was acting all weird, everything was working properly. any ideas?

thanks a bunch

Answer #1

yeah desktop.

Answer #2

Are you sure your speakers are plugged in properly? I’m assuming its a desktop… If not, you might need to re-boot it or something :/

Answer #3

I don’t think it’s that because they’re plugged. It’s possibly something internally in the computer.
