Why is my lower stomach feeling extremely bloated?

When I just got out of the shower my stomach right above my bladder feels extremely bloated and uncomfortable. I ate a small dinner, so it isn’t from my food I think. I am on my period, so I’m wondering if that is causing it? How can I make this feeling go away? It’s causing me huge discomfort.

Your period could be it. In this case, a hot water bottle or a hot wheat-bag on your lower tummy could help soothe it. It also helps if you lie on your tummy and put the hot thing on your lower back.

It could be your food passing through your intestines with some air caught up in it. You should lie on the floor (hard surface) face down, so your tummy is pressing on the floor. It may be uncomfortable, but it will move the air bubbles if thats the problem. Stretch out, put your arms in front of you and stretch out and stretch your legs out long too. You could get somebody to rub/pat your lower back while you are on the floor. Don’t continue if it is very painful.

If it doesn’t go away by tomorrow, you should see how the pain is, and consider going to a doctor.
