Why is my cat eating the plant?

I have a plant sitting in the corner of my room. It’s the one that keeps growing and gorwing and you can wind it across the room… kind of like an Ivy. Anyways, for a couple of weeks now, I noticed that my cat climbs onto the soil and eats the leaves of the plant. My mother says she has some deficiency. I’m not worried, just wondering why is she doing it?

Answer #1

Sometimes, when cats have stomach aches they will eat plants in order to help them vomit. Be careful though, because there are several common household plants that are toxic.

Answer #2

my cats do that too. its fine as long as the plant is not poisonous. sometimes my cats do this to make themselves throw up, but I’m sure there are other reasons.
