Why is it necessary for a girl in India to learn cooking?

its not a duty or nessecity to learn cooking . it is once individual choice . I think every one should learn cooking

Many people believe that cooking, cleaning and raising children are a woman’s job. This comes from the time when men would go to work (or go hunting) and women would stay home with the elderly and children. Today, men and women’s roles have changed and every couple organizes their household differently. Some women work, some men stay home, some couples cook together, some prefer to hire help.

It is true that knowing how to cook is an excellent skill to learn but it doesn’t mean that women should feel obliged to do it. Some men enjoy cooking very much and most of the worlds great chefs are men. So while knowing how to cook is good for survival, it doesn’t mean you have to be loving it or good at it.
