Why//is it legal to grab a student in missouri?

If a treacher wants a student to stay after school and the student ignores her and starts walking out does she have the right to grab me and pull me back into the room? Just asking to see if I can use it in my defence to the principal tomorrow.

A lesson you learn after years of school, don’t bother trying to fight back or giving excuses. In their eyes you’re in the wrong, and just go with that and say sorry and look like you mean it until your eyes bleed. Forget about pride and what’s right, it’s school, just be sorry, and 90% of the time, they’ll let you off.

maxyfox while that is good advice for most I can honestly say that I’m not sorry and wont say it either, and you didn’t answer the question… but thanks in that your advice may help others.

Additional info is that I have a 3.5 GPA and have never been so much as tardy. I don’t need to suck up to the principal I just need to know if she can legally grab me, but I can’t find the answer online. I’ll post the punishment or lack of I receive tomorrow. If anyone knows the answer to this question please post it.

legally, I highly doubt it students can’t lay hand on the teacher and vise versa. Hell, teachers can’t even lay a hand on students even if it’s in self defense. Might I ask why you were forced to stay after?
