Why is hitler important to the world?

A good movie to watch - but beware - is Schindler’s List. It is a sad movie and my mother told me I was never to watch it for the first time without her. I’m 29 now and still haven’t watched it…yet…without her. It’s very serious and is a drama, but depicts the ver negative and malicious side of Hitler.

As opposed to the jovial, lighthearted side that enjoyed practical jokes?

Hey there, I live in the UK but went to school in German, and EVRY German school kid has to learn this.

Hitler was important and still is as a symbol of false hope. Because of the treaty of Versailles in 1919 Germany was plunged into poverty and along came the defiant Hitler who told every one he could change things.. And he did. But with that change came terrible atrocities, but because the German people where saved they chose to turn a blind eye to what as going on! It’s sad, and the Germans regret their inability to speak out against it.

If you want to understand this in another context I suggest you read a comic book by Alan Moors called V for Vendetta. The movie doesn’t touch on it much, but the Graphic novel makes you understand why it could happen.

It is very important that we do not forget what happened in Germany. The German people weren’t to blame but merely the human condition and the need for a better life. To have a future we must understand out past. And not make the same mistakes again.
