Why is hip hop stars like 50 cent and mims there?

u see rock has a lot of meaning to it…like the song tears in heaven,his son died,and a lot og songs reflect hard on their life not say braggin on stuff..like metalicca they sang fade to black and it reflect on their guitars and amps were being stolen…and it was a great song and takes a lot of talent to do it

I tottaly agree, hip hop today, well 95% of it is all ablut that and it all sucks, it takes no skills, and its annoying. thats why I love old school hip hop, now thats music, I mean people like A tribe called quest, or black moon, or gangstarr, and etc.. that was good music, and it was creative. you wont find creative mucis reaal these days, unless its common, or talib kwlie you know. I agree hip hop today sucks. I believe it started dieing around 1995.

Not all rock has a lot of meaning to it. You seem to be generalizing things here.

Every music genre has the bands/singers/performers that dont talk about anything, but people love them.

You are talking about ONE rock song. Of course that one has meaning to it. There are also lots of rap songs out that have a lot of meaning to them. Just as there are lots of rap or rock songs that don’t have a lot of meaning.

There are rock, punk, country, etc. singers that do the same thing. It’s not just hip-hop and rap.

I wouldn’t go as far to say that 95 percent of rap now a days is all about money or girls. There are some very good rappers out there with actual messages in their songs. When it comes down to it though, it’s about what sells records to some people.
