Why I can't lose weight?

I’m 15 and I’m 5’2 and weigh about 140 lbs. I’m active and I rarely drink soda or eat really bad food. No matter what I do I can’t get under 140. Not even 139. I dont know what to do. Any advice?

Ok I don’t really Get into loosing weight because I don’t need to but some of the things that my aunts and my mom tell me is that if your planing to loose weight make a goal how much do you want to lose? Ok when you get that straigt go to the gym and work a machine that tells you how much calories you lose and then when you eat make sure you don’t eat more than what you lost because you will only be gaining that again, don’t starve your self because that will only gain more weight I know it doesn’t make sense but its what happens, also something els you can do is to eat six meals a day, but make sure they are small Porportions of it, that will get your digestive system less work because it evens it all out and like I sayd don’t starve yourself and its important that its small porportions, I’ve heard that drinking a lot of water helps too, also thers this funny thing they do, in the mornings when you wake up before you brush your teeth of eat anything think too glases of water but in porportions so that it lasts for about an hour, the stuff in your mouth that builds up over night helps digest smoother, and maybe that’s only for adults but hey its worth a shot, do it on weekends so you don’t have bad breath in school hehe, also do exeraise for 20-30 mins a day even if its just walking or jogging its still something, and talking and laughin burns a lot of calories too Hope this helps, good luck One more thing leave the diets for older people trust me not so efective for teens, don’t cut fat outa your food too much

Simply a Rose to brighten your day,         And maybe lessen the cares in your way;         And also, too, to help you to know,         That in knowing you, many others grow!

How to LOSE weight?

First, determine from the information below, what your weight should be. Then set yourself goals of a week, 2 weeks, a month, 3 months, 6 months and a year. As you see yourself meeting your goals it becomes easier. Remember, you didn’t gain your weight overnight so don’t expect to lose if overnight. Plus, weight lost slowly is more likely to stay off than weight lost in a hurry.

If you need conversion info, 1 kg = 2.2 pounds and 2.54 cm = 1 inch (12 inches = 1 foot)

“How can I Lose 1 pound of body weight per week?”

One pound of body fat is equal to about 3500 calories. So to lose 1 pound of weight per week, you need to eat 500 calories/day LESS than you burn.

But it’s not a good idea to lose weight simply by cutting calories. As well as decreasing calories you should increase your daily physical exercise. This helps to burn calories and build more lean tissue which in turn burns more calories.

“What should a minimum calorie intake be?”

As a guide to minimum calorie intake, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommends that calorie levels never drop below 1200 calories per day for women or 1800 calories per day for men. Even these calorie levels are quite low.

Another thing that helps to lose weight is to always eat a good breakfast. That helps to jump start your metabolism which helps start burning calories. Also, try to drink 8 eight ounce glasses of water every day. One before every meal (except breakfast) and before all snacks. That helps curb your appetite which helps reduce caloric intake.

You might have an underactive thyroid, it can cause you to put on weight, the best thing to do is go and get a blood test to see if you have one and you should recieve pills that you have to take everyday to make it active, you should start losing weight if that was the problem. hope this helps.

I would have to agree that this is probably your natural weight. This is where your body will more than likely “default” to.

If you crash diet (very unhealthy) or diet over time then fall off, your weight will more than likely default back to the 140. If you are active, I would accept this and be proud. Your muscle does weigh more than fat, and you are a healthy and normal size for your height.

Not everyone is destined to be a size 0 and 98lbs ;o)

Answer #5

Everybody has a natural weight- the weight that is ideal for your body to be in optimum health. It is a good thing and if you have tried healthy eating and exercise yet didn’t lose weight it is probably best to accept that this is the way your body is. Please please dont crash diet or exercise yourself to exhaustion because there is just nothing good that will come of it and it is very dangerous. Your BMI is 25 which studies have shown is considered by men to be one of the most sexually attractive BMIs. You’re lucky you have curves :)

3,500 calories = 1lb of weight

So if you cut 500 calories out of your daily intake every day, either by exercise or cuttinf down on calories, you will lose 1lb a week. This is ideal, you shouldnt try to lose more than this becuase its not good for you body.

In ten weeks time (which will go fast now your back at school) you would have lost about 10lb, so you will 130lb !! =]

GoodLuck x

it’s not always not eating bad foods. its just eating when you’re bored. whenever I have nothing to do..I eat. just stop eating when you’re full and eat slowly when you do. don’t eat unless you’re hungry!
