Why I am so clingy? am I going to lose my boyfriend?

im 20. I have been with my boyfriend for over 3 months now and we both love eachother very much. However, I’ve become a bit clingy although I’ve never been clingy ever before as I’ve always been very independant. I am a bit worried about losing him as hes the type of guy who likes his own space. what do I do?

Answer #1

Found out he was just going through a hard time with family, money, uni etc so we are currently on a break atm. So im going to be there for him and suport him when he asks.

Answer #2

Would it be too obvious to say stop being clingy?

Could you explain what you mean by clingy behavior, and why you feel the need to engage in this behavior if you feel it is clingy?

Answer #3

the good part is, YOU ARE recognising the fact that you are being clingy! now you just need to stop it, do things to keep yourself busy, have a life that doesn’t JUST revolve around your boyfriend, find things that you love doing, and do them well, he’ll be attracted to your sudden change of lifestyle as you’ll be more independant

Answer #4

so I should start reading, drawing, painting and hanging around with my friends more? I dont know why I’ve been clingy we would both text a lot and call a bit but he doesnt like talking on the phone. I think the best thing for me to do is do things I love to keep me busy and wait for him to text instead :) because I’ve realised I can start to do it better.

Answer #5

lol, you have your own answer. Question is, why are you being clingy? Dont you trust him? Or do you freak out thinking he’s going to leave? Because being clingy is not the solution to either of these problems, and is more likely to drive him to do the behavior you’re afraid of.

Answer #6

yeah I hate feeling like that. just analyze everything you do around him for a while until the faze has passed. try to have separate time with friends. if you guys have another couple you hang out with have the guys go to the bar and the girls do something else fun. that’s what I do.
