Why everybody always ask this
Why everybody always ask this in conversations how is work this is a very boring question personally I think nodody likes to talk about this what do you think any answer is welcome thank you.
My current girlfriend will come home on a weekday night, I’ll ask her how her day went, etc. Later on someone who she works with which happens to be my best friends girlfriend. Will say something on the phone about work and they’ll be on the phone for like 2 hours, an hour of that is spent talking about work, which she didn’t want too talk to me about… Atleast it saved me having to listen to her ;)
‘How is work’ and other banal questions - How are you doing, How’s your Mom, etc - are part of the social lubricant that allows a group of people to acknowledge each other without getting intrusive. It’s an opening gambit to more thoughtful questions. It’s showing a polite interest, and a skill you will have to develop as you go out into the world. So you might as well start learning it, or you are going to be viewed as abrasive.
