Why don't I have an answer box?

I regularly discuss in this site. Some times when I open a question to post my advice I find that instead of an answer box at the end of the page I have an ask a question box. Thus discussion stops there abruptly as I am not able to post advices any more.

Is this a problem with my pc or is there something else with this?

How do I post an advice in such a case?

It’s because the question has been closed. We do that for a few reasons:

  1. the question has been abused in the past
  2. the person who asked may not have been online for a while
  3. the best answers have already been posted…so, why continue, as they wanted advice?
  4. typically, after the 4-10th answer, people start replying to answers…not to the original person who asked. We have fun mail if you want to follow up with somebody directly :) OR you can setup a group, or use chat, to discuss something with somebody.
