Why does the SIMS 3 Not work?

Hi,My sims 3 will not load after the loading screen (the buildup to the home screen :/).. it does not freeze or anything because the loading cursor is still there.. and the music still plays but why is it taking long.. it wont load at all :/… I’ve got a 3GB laptop & it meets the specification thing.. could someone please tell me or kindly inbox me . because its doing my head in.. I reinstalled twice now :/.. my cousin got it for me from play.com when I reinstalled the 2nd time I put the teen pregnancy patch on but when I load its still the same.. any ideas. Thanks for Reading :)

It might be because your computer is to slow and cannot handle Sims 3. I have that same problem. You should try buying a new laptop if you can and if not try getting some upgrades to the processer and RAM.
