Why does my cat purr?

Just wondering.. you know? I was sooo bored one day and I heard a kitty purr… and I was just wondering.. you know? I know you know!

an interesting side note, a cats purr is at a frequency that promotes bone growth and development, or so I have read.

Well the real answer is that when they have kittens their kittens cant see so that the mother purrs so that the kittens know where she is! and it also calms here self down and when she is happy! haa nice question btw :P

All cats purr…they do it when they’re happy, or even just to calm themselves if they’re stressed.
