Why does my bunny like to tease the chinchilla?

Ok so my bunny Kiara gets to run free like a cat and the one thing she loves to do is make my chin Rockee spit at her.If I don’t keep at shutting the door to the room he’s in she acts like she LOVES to annoy him. Here’s the thing Kiara likes to act like a mother to ANY other animal. She never feels threatened and she’s really sweet.Rockee’s attitude is he loves people and to play out of his cage and being held and just hiding in his honey/hay hut.He in NO way likes the bunny.Last time I forgot to close the door to Kiara’s cage and Rockee was out of his cage playing around and so I went back in there after I made an esspresso and Rockee had my bunny in the corner spitting at her. After he yelled and told he who was boss while I was trying to direct her back to the cage she kept lightly hopping after him. When he noticed he tried to jump on her back and attack her.I made aloud noise todistract him but it didn’t distract he bunny and she leaned in and started cleaning Rockee. He freaked out and hoped all the way back to his cage.I have a lot more stories but this is a good enough ex.So my question is should rockee have his own room away from the bunny? Is it worth I to buy the crittes play pens?

My chin doesn’t have any claws.I don’t think they do at all,but I won’t get rid of either so that’s not an option. I’m going to just keep an eye on the bunny and make sure she doesn’t go into the room he’s in.

I’m kinda ignorant about chincilla’s…are they rodents, too? Better keep the bunny away, as I’m sure the Chin has ways of defending itself, as yet unknown…A rabbit can put up a hell of a fight with those back claws…so maybe chin’s have them too…I can’t help ya much here, except keep them separated.

lol, I’m sorry you’re not getting very helpful suggestions, but the whole thing sounds kinda cute when you read it from an outsiders pov (I’m sure it’s not fun for you to watch them fighting ofcourse). Hmm well couldnt you just keep them in seperate rooms? or keep one locked off while the other was around?

Answer #4

lol how cute! its like a lil bro to a big sis..they like to pick on each other either for fun or bc maybe your bunnys jelouse bc you give your chinchilla atention a lot..I don’t know..haha I like that word..chinchilla..

Answer #5

The bunny has both but she’s realy luvy and gentle.Chinchilla has like four teeth he’d use to penetrate so I guess he really could inflict some kind of wound. He’s never biten me so I don’t know how powerful his bite is.

Answer #6

Yeah I do let them out at diff times but the bunny is usually loose like a cat and when I put her in her cage she grabs it with her teeth and shakes it and she’ll do it for like two hours. That’s why I wanted to know if those critter playpens they sale at petstores would work.I need to know if they would be able to keep the bunny from knocking it over while Rockee’s in it.But yeah they are cute : )

Answer #7

but the bunny gets all the time out of the cage.

Answer #8

lol, would they really hurt each other? (I.e. do they actually have teeth or claws?)
