Why does "Microsoft.net framework keep popping up!?

I got the TDL3 rootkit virus about 2 weeks ago. Long story short, I had my email address on craigslist when I was selling something, someone sent me an email with a link in it, I was dumb enough to click, and the website infected me. A man from a computer fixer place told me to install malwarebytes and run a scan. It found 22 things. Later, I ran the disc my computer came with and “reloaded windows” the way my dad explained it was “it replaces dirty files with clean ones from the disc” well, ever since then, ever time I restart the computer, or log in and out of my account, this little pop up comes up. It says on the tab “microsft.net framework” then it says “please wait while DocumentViewer configures” or something along those lines. The only option is to click cancel .When you do, it pops up about 5 more times, then stops. Then a new popup comes up and says something about an error, that the correct disc is no in the drive. I’ve tried putting in the same disc that came with my computer, but it still said there was an error.

Then, if you click cancel on THAT popup, it keeps coming back up for a few times. Finally, I just push control, alt, delete then close the popup that way. Why the HECK does it do this? It takes about 5 extra minutes to startup the computer now and it’s very annoying.

Another thing I noticed is that when I go to control panel, add/remove programs, something called “microsoft.net framwork” is listed like 5 times, with a bunch of different names all relating to the title “microsoft.net framwork”. I don’t think they’ve ever been there before.

Someone please help. Do NOT give me links. that’s how I got in this mess to begin with. Thank you in advance.

try above… but I dont think it will be there, but it might..

if not we need to check your ‘Run’ in teh registry as this is where all your startup programs are..

uninstall all the .net files…

and whats your operating system… if I remember its XP isnt it?

Answer #2

Try this:

START RUN Type in: MSCONFIG It will take you to the “SYSTEM CONFIGURATION UTILITY” go to the STARTUP tab UNCHECK the framework APPLY and OK/CLOSE and then RESTART

If Framework does not appear, respond again and I will try to help once again.
