Why does it itch and hurt?

Okay so, lately I’ve felt really itchy down in my genital region and well it doesn’t hurt all the time just when I put pressure on it. I keep very clean and I try not to use soap too often because I know it dries out down there but I do wash regularily. I know its not an STD because we’ve both been checked and clean and I’ve been with my boyfriend for a year. plus it didn’t happen after sex or anything. I know what a UTI feels like and I know this isn’t one. is it a yeast infection? it just itches and its a tad painful when I try to have sex or when I put pressure on that area. otherwise, it doesn’t bother me much. I use a little vagisil on the outside and it seems to help the itching but it doesn’t make either the itching or the slight pain from pressure go away.

If it is a yeast infection, what can I do to get rid of it? just those store bought treatments?

It sounds like it could be a yeast infection. I suggest going to see your doctor about this and get him/her to prescribe you some medicine for it.

yeast infection on the outside of your genitels would look like a swollen red bump and yes its itchy. You’l have a whitish oderless discharge from it and itl hurt when you pee and when you have intercourse. Now if you have intercourse a lot then this maybe your nerves being numbed and trying to cool themselves down. But definetly consult with your doctor about this.
