Why does he keep staring at me?

Well it all started when I switched high schools.I am a tenth grade transfer student and fitting in can be pretty hard. But anyway, ever since a few weeks after the school year started, they have this 11th grade boy that keeps staring at me. At first I thought our eyes just met, but then it was more deep that that. I thought of it as kind of funny at first, my friends thought of it as romantic though. However it doesn’t end there, you see this boy is what a good bit of the girls ( even some of my friends thinks he is ‘’sexy’’) in my school are all head over heels for.I cant help but feel that him staring me down is a problem. So I think it would help if I knew what he was staring at me for. I would not lie sometimes I stare at him,because he is cute, but I stare at everybody unconciously. Some of my friends say , its because he likes me, some think it’s because our resemblance which isn’t really a resemblance , we just have the same phere, pale like complexion.some even say its because he thinks I am the one staring at him , which is impossible, because everytime I pass he always whispers something to his friends. And they even say he looks at me because he pitys my immaturity, I mean just because I still wave and say high to elders, play and hang outwith the 8th and 9 th graders just to cheer them up and have fun and smile a lot, I ‘m immature.! So as you can see I have a big problem. It seems like everyday he might talk to me but he never does, not even when I pass him on the stair case and no one is really around, he just kinda looks at me ,then looks away. He just keeps it movin , and like he has his own joke with it too. I can’t help but feel to throw him off the staircase,I ‘m joking.so now I just don’’t know. I doubt he likes me, I don’t consider myself that attractive or pretty. So someone in a relationsip, in my situation, someone with experience, or just someone at all, tell me what you think the real cause of our eye contact is. And hurry, my mind can’t take it anymore
